KG290 connecting to PC

I've been trying to sync this LG phone to my PC so I can transfer photos and music across, but thus far I've had little luck. The official LG software brings up an error message barley in English and the other piece of software I've been trying to use "Mobtime cell phone manager" seems to work fine, except when I try to access the multimedia aspect of the phone, it then brings up the message "failed to read folder information, operation refused".

I've searched online and found others with similar problems, but no solutions. Any help anyone can provide would be hugely appreciated.

USB connection mode (Menu 9.4.3) Page 87, Manual click here

No Software needed if you've got a Memory Card,

You can activate USB connecton
mode of your phone for serveral
usages.
If you use Mass storage function like
USB memory card, select Mass storage
in this menu. Mass storage is
available for only external memory
card.
