blackberry device software??

i have blackberry 8120 on 02 network.

phone works fine, browsing, email. desktop manager installed on computer and can transfer and synchronise.

however, when i try to open the application program of the Desktop Manager i get a message telling me there is no device software.

do i need to download some other software aside from what came on the CD. i have looked on 02 and they have what they describe as handheld software for the 8100 but it does not specifically called device software and does not say it is for the 8120

any suggestions people, i tried blackberryforums.co.uk but it would appear nobody uses this forum much judging by the number of posts and responses.
