google earth street view poser

I have installed Google earth ( a number of times and from different sources)onto my HP desktop but I cannot find the compass and navigation aids etc + the little man figure that I need in street view. I have tried all the options in the view dropdown but it is nowhere to be seen--any ideas please.

Try view-reset(at bottom)-click on tilt & view, and for those who don't know there is a basic flight simulator built into google earth. On google maps right click on the screen and you can get a 3D view but you need those red/blue glasses to view the 3D

Just to close this one --I re- installed and this time the missing parts appeared--don't ask me!
