Installing the Latest SATA Drives

Hi all, I need to replace my HDD, and see that the very latest sata3 drives are about the same price as a standard sata drive, can the latest drives be a straight replacement for the older sata drives? Would anybody recommend spending a little extra and buying an 'Enterprise Class' sata drive, are they more reliable? I am running Vista on a Asus M2N-MX mb P.
