Recover recently moved files from the HD

I recently acquired a 64GB flash drive. I moved 30GB worth of data to that drive (I:) Everything moved successfully, however, the next day, after having shut down my computer with the flashdrive still plugged in, only 4GB showed up, and all the other folders and sub-folders showed up as an unknown document containing 32kb. I now realize how bad of an idea this whole thing was. Anyways, is there a way to recover the recently moved files from my HD? I have been searching for a solution for days, to no avail! Any help, I would appreciate to en extremity!

If you haven't written anything new to the HDD that overwrites the existing data try Recuva

Files can be recovered until they are overwritten, So the first thing which is required after loss of data is to stop using the drive anymore from which data is lost to increase the chances of recovery. Second thing is to choose a good data recovery software like Kernel for Windows Data Recovery for recovery process which i have personally used with great results.
