Using vista on my sony viao and when typing script when on line, the cursor jumps back indiscriminately to some previous point so if I dont watch it, the script gets typed into wherever it lands. PLEASE help - its doing my head in!

Are you using the touchpad or a mouse? If it a touchpad try going into mouse properties - settings - and you should find in the left hand panel a "sensitivity" category.
