Optical drive problem with Vista

I have two systems running Vista,

I also have one running 7,

They all update automatically,

Since 14/12/2011,the last update,the optical drives on the two Vista systems have been unable to read any disc.

The system report/s say that they are both working correctly and mechanically they do,but they will not read any disc inserted.

The system running 7 works without a problem.

?Any good ideas ??

Have you tried running the Microsoft Fixing Tool?

1Hi if chub_tor idea doesn't work try installing update to see if it was that that's created the problem. You can always put the update back later if you wish. [click here]
