Regedit - User profile service failed - unable to modify in regedit.

I am experiencing trouble with my laptop, i cannot log in to the administrators account, the message "User profile service failed. the user profile cannot be loaded". i have found various videos and pages of advice which i have been following. however, i cannot delete the temp profile in Regedit. i have fiddled with the permissions and each time i select "full access" it gets rejected. This then means i cannot go any further with the repair process.

Dell inspiron 1545 Vista 64 bit

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I know you have followed a lot of advice. I had a similar problem and followed this and it worked.
