For the past few weeks, every time I boot up my MESH Vista PC the Set-up screen appears and informs that the date and time are in error. I reset them and work without problems, but they are in error at the next boot up.Is it the American Megatrends CMOS chip at fault or something like a failing battery?

How old is your PC. Sounds like your CMOS battery needs replacing.

Thanks romanby, computer built July 2007. Thanks wiz-king, you both comfirmed my suspicion of a battery failure. I have not experienced a previous battery failure having had one coputer for over 10 years!
