Strange event on bootup

My pal has an unusual problem with Vista on his desktop.
Each time he boots up, the following folder opens and stays displayed on the desktop:
Computer > HP(C:) > Windows > system32
I have tried to sort it but cannot. Anyone please?

Many thanks Lazarus The 2nd.
I'll work on it today.
Sri not to get back sooner but was busy all day yesterday.

Sorted after a lot of reading/head scratching!
A program called HiYo in the start-up list was causing it. Disabling this stopped the system32 folder from arriving opened on the desktop.
