HELP NEEDED!

My laptop downloaded some windows updates last night when they were done i was asked to re-start my laptop which i did, 2 updates were then installed as my laptop shut down. When it restrated it came up saying it was configuring update 3 of 3 it stays on this screen for about 10 mins with 0% completed then re-starts but when the screen comes back on it still says it is configuring update 3 of 3, and does the same thing over and over as though stuck in a loop. I have tried re-starting in safe mode but it brings up the same message on screen and i am unable to get into my laptop. Any ideas?

Patience - it may eventually sort itself out. the problem is that in the meantime your laptop is unusable.
