windows vista ultimate reinstall

Hi i was just wondering is it possible to reinstall windows vista ultimate on a fresh formatted harddrive. I i have the proper disk its not a copy i already have it installed at the moment on my old harddrive. And its been activated already. Just wondering if it wont mess up and say its not real i had a problem like this before.

Thats great forum editor nothing is being changed in my pc bar the HDD. So hopefully everything should go to plan

only permits you to install Windows Vista on a single computer, but provided the old hard drive is no longer used there's nothing to prevent you from installing on a new drive in the same computer, provided you haven't changed any other major components, like a motherboard, for instance.
Just install the software, and if the activation wizard stops, and tells you the software has already been activated, select the telephone activation procedure. Then follow the automated telephone prompts.
