Office Home & Student 2007 and screen layout

installed a 3 licence home & student on one of the family laptops with vista 32bit and office SP2 installed.

When I open Word the page before you start typing layout small and the curser where you would normally type is too small looks like its on font 6 I don't want to have to keep manually changing the font sizes everytime I start writing a new office document.

Is the word template corrupt straight after a clean install maybe ?
