quickest way to recover without vista cd

ok i have the techguys thing , i tried burning a disc but it failed saying disc read fail try again , so trying again just now ,

if this works i am able from this to pop it in and wipe the system and install windows again? or would i need a windows disc ,

and also if it doesnt work is there any other way just to put the basic windows files it needs to restore it to factory setting on to a disc? i wanna wipe everything else cause i cant get the disc to delete properly.

What are you trying to burn,and using which software,and what is your operating system,desktop or laptop?

When you get it up and running and fully updated use Acronis or similar to make a Vista recovery image :)
