Limited connectivity

Hi we have 2 laptops and 1 dongle (Vodaphone) and my eldest daughters laptop can no longer connect it says limited connectivity can anyone explain why and how to rectify many thanks

OK just so that we understand your set up you have 2 laptops and one Vodaphone dongle which if you put it in one machine it works and if you put it in the other laptop it doesn't work. Is that correct? And presumably it did once work in that second machine for as you say "can no longer connect with limited connectivity."

Plug the adapter into the working laptop and in a Run window (Windows key+R), type cmd /k ipconfig /all (note the three spaces) and press Enter.
Make a note of these settings: DHCP Enabled, Automatic Configuration Enabled, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Server(s).
Then plug it into the non-working machine, run ipconfig as above and compare the settings.
