Windows explorer in Vista has suddenly started to shut down with Windows Explorer stopped running messages. It seems to occur when accessing JPG files. As my wife uses the PC for our photos you can all probably understand the grief I am getting.

Can anyone help????

1. Go to Control Panel > Classic View > Problems Reports and Solutions and search for the exact date when it started crashing. Now go to Control Panel > Classic View > Programs and Features and search for programs with an ’Installed Date’ just before the crash date(s) above. If the installed date is missing in the display, right-click the Name, Size bar and select Installed On.

2. ShellExView can be useful to see what has been introduced into Explorer by third party applications. Read about it then scroll down to the bottom to download the x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version click here
