viewing area to large

I am running vista ultimate and my screen view has suddenly enlarged so much that I cannot see the close or start buttons,how do I get it back to normal please.Thankyou for any help.

Right c;ick on your desktop> Personalise> Select Display settings and make the resolution higher

PS put it Highest 1440 by 900
