hi please can someone help me i cannot get vista sp2 to install i get error code 80200010 i have checked microsoft but am not sure what it means.
When my p c reboots after the download my pc will not work i then reboot and press f4 after a while it starts and says microsoft needs to repair youre p c after 10 minutes it finishes and says cannot repair after reboot about 3/4 times it worked and i have rolled it back so all ok at the moment any help would be great thanks

are you able to download the saved file to the desktop then restart in safe mode and try install again.

run chkdsk,defrag and ccleaner first.

At least one other sufferer from this error code has found that it is Norton/Symantec causing it. Do you have this installed on your PC? If so you might want to try uninstalling it, then trying the update again. If you have a Norton license key then you can re-install it or be like many others on this forum and use a free version of anti-virus such as Avast or AVG.

Why am I not surprised! I'm glad I rid myself of this piece of error ware a long time ago.

I don't mean to be antagonistic but Norton caused me no end of problems a few years back.

when I installed sp2 I saved the download to desktop then disabled norton prior to running install then activate norton afterwards, mine went trouble free.
