Please goto
Start>type in the search box msconfig click on enter
When the msconfig box opens click on the start-up tab and see if there are any programs that you can stop from starting at start-up
Dont stop any Microsoft
It may be a program that is freezing when trying to start-up

Usually it is the graphics driver. If you launch device manager and then double click on your display adopter. It will display a window where from you can select to update your driver.
