just changed to office 2007 but no outlook so now using windows mail.
when i open and read a mail and delete or close i want to go back to the inbox but it keeps opening the next mail down. is it me or is there no function to set this like office xp outlook had.

My wife used Windows Mail on her Vista computer, for a while. She found it rather unfriendly for a number of reasons.
So, after some advice on this forum, I downloaded Windows Live Mail for her. It's much better, and I heartily recommend it.

its the home&student edition for reason unknown they left out outlook.

I also have a gmail thinking of moving over everything to that. I tried windows live mail but was not that keen on it.

What about Thunderbird, I have never used it myself but it could be an alternative for you.

I use google mail. Changed to it about 6 months ago. I'd never go back to using email client software now.

I am tending to agree with you gmail seems be be improving now it has labels. Amazing how much spam gets into the spam folder.
