Recording onto portable hard drive from television

Hi all,

I have several programmes that I have recorded via Sky+ that would be useful as teaching resources also. As my combi video/dvd recorder is buggered is there any way of transferring these programmes from my sky+ disc to my portable hard drive or dvds? If so how would I do it and would I need any specialist software as well?

Thanks

The Teacher

The sky programs are encrypted and cannot be copied except by playing to dvd or a PC capture in realtime.

However the Free to air programs can be copied but it involves removing the drive from the sky box and connecting in a caddy to your PC then use a program call Etract+ to copy to your hard drive
