Can anyone tell me why I am unable to transfer photos from my Nexus4 to my Windows 8 PC. When I connect with a USB lead it shows that it has recognised my phone but no way can I bring up any photos.

The answer is probably that you don't have the Nexus 4 drivers on your Windows 8 machine.

You can get the drivers here.

Extract the drivers to a folder on your computer, and then plug your phone into the PC. You should be prompted to browse your computer for the drivers. Navigate to the folder you extracted to, and select the usb_driver folder.
