Xperia SP or Xperia ZR?

Hello! I am looking for a future proof phone that i will use at least another two years. So I have narrowed down between these two phones- Xperia SP and Xperia ZR. While i don't mind paying the extra bucks for the water resistance and better processor but not at the cost of a better battery life. For a heavy user like me, battery life is a deal breaker. I am using the Galaxy note which doesn't last more than 8-10 hours on a single charge. I want to know if the quad core processor with 2 gb ram on the Xperia ZR will help enhance the battery life or consume more of it?

While anyone can do the math – more cores means more power – the problem with adding dual-core, quad-core, and now eight-core processors is that smartphones need serious battery life

But the Battery in ZR is 2300 MAh. And also ZR don't have any Illuminating strip which may consume little battery power.

So there must not be any noticeable difference in battery life of both phones
