Phone not remembering words

My wife has a LG GT350 Mobile phone and when she sends a text message it normally remembers the word after entering the first letter which saves having to enter the whole word it is the same as when using excel on the PC.But now it has stopped remembering the word she must have pressed something incorrectly. It say's in the user manual to use T9 But not sure what that means there is no T9 Key.Can someone advise.

T9 is predictive text. I haven't got an LG so cannot tell you how to turn it off and on but the manual should do so.
