I have heard that it is tricky to unlock the Xperia Arc S. Is this true? Which is it best to do -- go to a shop or pay for a code online? Thanks for any help

I don't mean bootloader unlocking, but network unlocking. Maybe it is the bootloader thing that is tricky?

I seriously doubt it is too hard to unlock your Xperia Arc S to another network.

It depends upon the skills of the technicians at a mobile phone repair centre.

I would not recommend DIY guides though. I've know friends who follow guides to unlock mobiles on Youtube videos or guides only to find a bricked phone as a result though.

Thanks. In the end I bought an unlocked one, but thanks for the tip about following guides...
