Problem connecting digital camera to LCD TV

Hi

We have just bought a new digital camera: Canon EOS 550D, and would like to play video from the camera on the TV (ALBA LCD 32880H DF)

We have connected the "stereo AV cable" (supplied with the camera) to the sockets on the TV matching the red, yellow and white colours to the same ports.
We turned the camera on, but got nothing on screen at all.

In the past with previous TV's / camera it has been very easy but with this more modern technology is there anything else we need to do to get our video running on the TV ?

Any help would be appreciated

Have you changed the TV to the appropriate AV input?

You need to select another channel, it usually goes like this
select channel selector[may be an other name] where you sell see a list of channels such as AV1 AV2 AV3 HDMI PC
AV1 is usually the default for TV- and select others for Recorder etc.
S plug camera in run the movie and then select progressively the AV selector until the movies appears on screen
Remember which one to select for next time.
