Viewing problems with Panasonic HD Writer AE 1.5

I've got a Panasonic HDC-TM10 and I've used the HD Writer AE 1.5 software to transfer videos to my pc. I can't get them to playback properly though - the picture stutters a lot and even when I change the settings, the best I can manage is the picture running behind the audio. PC is a Dell Latitude D420 with Intel 1.2GHz, 1.49GB RAM, Windows XP Pro SP3.

Any suggestions or is my pc just not up to the job?

Not up to the job I think. Intel 1.2 GHz single core is not capable of processing videos at a reasonable rate.
