Unsoicited Txt messages

My wife bougt a new samsung, PAYG with Orange. Had old Number transfered. Within a day a message(Uopened, luckily came in from ? Hot Girls" or some such. I suspect a scam. Any advice? How do they get the number?

These are allmost allways an "opt in"scheme . Meaning she may have inadvertantly sent text off to one of these companys.

She can either (a) Speak to her provider about it or (b) relpy to the unwanted texts with the word STOP , and they should stop.
