Does anyone know if it is possible to input the TV signal from a Humax or similar set top Freeview or Freesat box to a PC for viewing with Windows Media Center? I have not yet found a set top box with a USB connector but most have HDMI and hdmi to usb convertor cables are available.

Something like this would be worth a try. Unless you live in an area with a strong TV signal I suspect you'd have to run a coax to the dongle.

Thanks rdave13. I have a number of TV dongles and TV tuner cards ranging from the very cheap to the very expensive. Virtually all of them have software problems or some problem or other despite the latest drivers etc and I was looking for a more robust piece of hardware. Coax input for freeview and freesat is available Just interested to know if I can capture the signal via a set top box whether freesat or freeview
