Tiny helicopters - Syma 107G

This has to be an incredible toy in value terms . I have one and a friend who introduced me also has a simlar one.
Mine started life well but rapidly changed to losing power in less than a minute. Realistically they should run for up to five or six minutes.
Changed the small lithium battery (3.5 v 150mh) but the fault is still there and becoming worse. Some recovery if not flown for a few seconds
I don't think the battery is to blame so it is either a mechanical fault though everything seems to run freely, or it is a control circuit which isn't allowing full power to the brushless motors. I can buy a more hefty battery but extra weight would need extra power.
Anyone had fun with these or had a similar problem?
