How do I make my new Sky remote control operate?

Hi Folks

I had my Sky remote control replaced by a new one. I have put in the required code in order to make it work, as instructed on the small leaflet which came with it, but I cannot turn the tv on or off.

Would anybody be kind enough to suggest a solution for this problem?

There are also more detailed instructions in the Sky box user guide.

So far as I can remember, if it doesn't work when you put the code in you keep pressing the TV and the power buttons on the remote alternately until the TV turns off, then press "Select"
