Tablet, PC, laptop streaming.....are NAS box the solution?

Hi,

I'm wanting to get a larger hard drive (1TB) to store movies, pictures, general work, that can be accessed through my Samsung tablet and HP laptop through wifi at home and from around the world, without having to wait for my PC tower to power up etc etc every time I come home from work. I believe the solution is a NAS box? Are there any recommendations for product that will work with both my tablet and laptop, for streaming music, HD movies & images etc etc?

Any advice appreciated
