I am desperate for a new TV, but am conscious about how expensive the freeview+ recording boxes are. I was wondering if anyone knew whether you can by a small TV (for my bedroom) that has this inbuilt or anyway to record freeview channels on it, if so which make as I'm struggling to find one, but that could be because I'm not looking in the right place!

I don't know of any such cmbi device, but I purchased one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-HDR5010KB-Freeview-Digital-Recorder/dp/B004INH5V2
I paid a bit less for mine, but it's a great machine, one click to record an entire series in HD or normal format.
