Acer X223w monitor suddenly not detected.

I have a Acer X223w monitor running on Windows 7. I was using it yesterday, shut down my computer, left for a few hours, and came back to find it was not detected. I hadn't moved or unplugged anything.
I have a partitioned harddrive on a Macbook and I connect the monitor with a mini DVI converter. When I switch over to the mac side of my computer it is still not detected.
I have unplugged everything and replugged it in. What are some other things I can try?

switch everything of and check all the cable conections don't just look at them infact remove them and see if you have any bent pins on the connectore (Not uncommen),is the monitor light on if not it could be a mains fuse that's blown.Other than that whilst everthing is off ground yourself on the pc case (This is important)and make sure that the video card is proberly seated and that all the fans on it are working to cool the card.
