Black & White Pictures only on TV with new DVD recoder

Just hooked up my brand new Toshiba DVD recorder to a slightly old Panasonic TV with usual Scart lead but only getting B&W on the digital channels. So Toshiba DVD recorder Set Up found all the channels and lists them OK and DVDs run in colour and anolgue TV runs in colour OK. TV always showed colour before. Its just in this new context all digital channels/menus are in Black and White. Any ideas? Thanks

Switched to AV channel on TV?

Found Hitachi did similar until pulled aerial from TV and used digital on AV channel from box.

Check if you can select PAL/NTSC and if you can make sure you've selected PAL.
