laptop to tv display problem

hi
i have my laptop hp510 fitted up with a VGA cable to my 40" lcd i can get the signal . Its just i dont know how to alter the height on the tv it appears landscape do i alter the pc or tv settings . The laptop screen is fine when i have both on together winxp home

Alter on laptop but if old laptop you may find that you cannot change from a 4:3 layout
