hi
I'm considering getting a new tv soon and some kit to go with it but i have absolutely NO clue about home entertainment options these days (my tv is from 1994) so things have moved on a bit i believe.
What i want to do is get a set where i can record tv onto a hard drive and watch iplayer on it. There are so many devices that i'm frankly getting a bit confused.
Any help?
I did look through the posts but most is about specific set ups.

Some of the newer TV's (2010 onwards) have built in PVR which you can connect a USB HDD and BBC iplayer. However they are not cheap.
