Which comes out on top of the browser war between IE8, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera?????

There's no easy answer to that since it depends on how you segment the market.
In Europe, Firefox is on top, but that's probably because of Chrome taking market share from IE.

It's really a matter of personal preference.
My default browser of choice is Chrome, I use Firefox for the PCA forums (because it's better with a touch screen and for colours), and Opera on my mobile.
I never used IE and have not yet tried Safari.

Always used IE, never seen any reason to try the others.

The one that you prefer using.
Each browser has its strong points and its faults, and to be honest there's no single browser that ticks all the boxes.
Try them all, and find one that suits you.

I don't think any will come out on top as they will always be competing with each other.
I was once a fan of Netscape Navigator but then switched to IE for a while before trying Firefox. I have tried Chrome but Firefox for me does everything that I need it to so is the browser of choice on all my machines along with a few plug-ins.
