For those thinking of moving to 64bit (Win7) and use Nikon SLR's you may like to know that they do not have a codec for this O/s and it seems have no intention of producing one.
So my thanks to them there.
My desktop has finally given up and has been replaced. As I installed my copy of Capture NX2 to my laptop last year when the desktop had previously broken down, I have apparantly used up my two activations and will have to buy another licence.
I kindly invited the Nikon adviser to "go away"
I think this is becoming the norm lately - no longer two machines on the licence, but two activations. If anyone has Tiffen Dfx, they have the same attitude.
The point is this software is not cheap, and this attitude is in my opinion totally unreasonable. Computers break down and have to be replaced all the time. there is no reason for having to replace expensive software as well.
But no matter, I still have them on my laptop, and Lightroom (which reinstalled with ease) will do everything the others will do, and much better.
By the way, if anyone wants an 64bit codec try this. click here Not free, but excellent for a tenner.
