I am having trouble viewing hd video clips downloaded from a canon eos 550d on an Aspire 7730 laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo processor TS 800,up to 1244mb mobile Intel Graphics,4gb memory and 160 gb hdd?
They can only be viewed on media players Quicktime and Realplayer at lowest resolution otherwise the video is very jerky.

Try using software to process the clips, my favourite is Videoredo, which will combine your clips to a single file, and output as MPEG.
The program is not free, but there is a 15 day free fully functioning trial period.

Have you checked for updates on Qicktime etc.
Just a thought the camera takes SDHC cards, if you are using cards that are less than class 6 you may get a jerky video as the informations will not be writen to the card quick enough.
