Record onto dvd with freeview recorder on virgin

Hi, i have a Toshiba DVR19DT DVD recorder, this has a freeview receiver installed, but i'm on a contract with virgin, can't work out how to record programmes, if it's possible at all! any advice appreciated.

How many scart outlets does your virgin box have?

Mine has 2 one for TV and 1 for DVD recorder.
I have an LG recorder and found that I have to put it onto AV2 to make it pickup signal from Virgin box.

Mine is V+ box

yes 2 i've tried swapping them, i just thought there would be a compatibility issue with having a virgin box and having a built in freeview receiver??

when I say put into AV 2 I mean click on the av button on remote untill av2 shows on the display panel
