Practika digit mcamera problem

in May 2007 I purchesed a Practika digital camera so slightly out of warranty, today I took a photo, using the camera not the memory card unfortunately, when trying to put in the USB connector into the camera, the connection on the camera has been pushed right in so I contacted Practika for advice and have received an unhelpful email stating the following "It sounds as though you've broken it!", I know I am not a genius but I had gathered that, the problem is I need the photo taken today from the camera, anybody any ideas on what I can do, all help and advice gratefully accepted.

Yes, the lenses were re-badged Japanese products and of excellent performance.

I eventually gave the complete outfit to my best mate and bought a Nikon SLR body and Tamron lens.

My Nikon F401 and remarkably compact Tamron AF 28-200mm zoom will stand up to most situations...:-)

The Tamron covered the same range as the two Practika lenses, whilst still being a top class optical device.

Still have the Nikon and Tamron, plus my 43-year-old Ashai Pentax Spotmatic.

praktica have sent camera back and resomended a repair company so have sent it to them,Praktica also included a new usb cable

yesterday received the camera back from praktica with a note recomending a repair agent, why did they not tell me of this before I sent them the camera, they did include a new usb cable, so have sent it to agents to see what they say

All the shunting back and forth costs and the final repair bill- if indeed it proves to be repairable[my guess- not] will tot up well on the way to a new camera with this weeks specifications.

thanks to all for help and suggestions, camera due back next wednesday with new mb, unfortunately photo could not be recovered, never mind, again thanks to all for your help
