forgotten adminastrative password

My daughter has been mentally ill and has forgotten her admin password, could you advise what we should do to recover it.

Which OS is it? XP, Vista, W7 ?

You could try the following from link Posted June 6, 2013 at 12:22PM by SimpleSimon1 in other thread I linked to.

"Important note for Windows Vista users: At this time there is only one solution for Window Vista and that is Petter Nordahl-Hagen's Offline NT Password & Registry Editor"

Nothings ever easy is it...

To recover the original Windows password, you can try Ophcrack. But it may take a long time to crack your password. If you need to access the computer quickly, you can remove the existing password using another program - PCUnlocker.
