new ipad too many passwords and Apple ID's HELP!

I have a Windows 7 laptop and a new Ipad. I have never used ITunes and I'm wondering if that was my first mistake but.............I seem to have got myself too many Apple ID's and Passwords. I'm so confused I think it was because I tried to sync the two devices (or maybe not). When my ipad asks me to login with my Apple ID and password it tells me one or other is incorrect, I then go the Apple ID page and get another ID or password, then my laptop doesn't recognise me. The ipad seems to need different ID's and passwords for different things and I have half a dozen different logins now and don't have a clue who I am!!!

My question is can anyone advise me how I delete all personal ID's/Passwords from my IPad and start all over again - and can I have just ONE Apple ID and Password? This is a complete nightmare I don't know how I've got myself into this mess if anyone can help I'd be grateful as I'm sure you can tell I'm a complete novice so go easy, thanks.

Have a read here:

Apple ID

There are several reasons for having an Apple ID - for example if you wish to use the "Find my iPhone (iPad) " feature on someone else's computer.

Basically, I find it best to use your usual e Mail as the "Apple ID" and to have a secure password in the password box. I do not have an open account with Apple with my credit card - I use those £15 or £20 vouchers. In iTunes, when you log in with the correct ID and password, and go to the "store" option, it tells you the remaining credit. I would use the same ID and password on the laptop and the iPad. I have more than one ID as a granddaughter also uses my PC but for now I would stick to one. If you live near an Apple store they will help set it up. If not, telephone the nearest one and they will put you through to tech support. Have your serial no ready - they are helpful.
