Can I safely remove all temporary files?

I have just done a full scan of my computer using PC Pitstop's PC Matic which I have used for some time. The report on junk files shows a total of 144.23 MB in 31 files. The majority (143.83 MB) is contained in 17 temporary files. My question is: Is it safe simply to remove all of these and if so, by what means?

You don't seem to have many temp files, and yes they can be deleted that's why they are called 'temporary'

Here's your programs FAQ http://www.pcpitstop.com/faq/pcmatic.asp

I usually manually delete ~temp files including temp internet files, now and then. Mostly before I'm making a backup image, quite a few on here use Ccleaner.
