hi I have bought ms office home and student, but when I try to install using the product key, on my laptop (Windows 8), I get an error message - "cannot instal the 32 bit version because you have 64 bit installed. 64 bit products not supported with 32 bit". I've got a dvd with it but do not know what to do. Should I just uninstall the trial version of Office and use the DVD to install from scratch?

Yes that is what you have to do, uninstall the 64bit trial or freebie that prob came with with laptop. Then install your 32 bit from DVD. answers.microsoft.com
