PCI CARD NEEDED FOR DELL DIMENSION C521

What type of PCI card should I buy to allow me to use a firewire connection on my Dell Dimension C521. Low profile with 3 slots available: PCI express * 1 card slot, PCI express *16 card slot, PCI card slot. What are the differences between these slot?

AFAIK the difference is the speed of the data it can handle (same as usb 2 is faster than usb1), here is a good simple chart with the different speeds
