windows 7 windows office email

My emails in the inbox disappear! at present I have two showing although in the menu to the left the inbox shows (16) in brackets The missing emails do not appear in the deleted page and I have definately not inadvertainly deleted these missing emails.

What email software are you using? You mention Windows 7, but that has no inbuilt email client. The word 'office' appears in your title, and if you have Microsoft Office installed you may be using Outlook.
Provide more information and we'll try to sort this out for you.

Sorry-yes I should have said microsoft office using outlook.

Do you by any chance run Outlook on another machine? If you do, and the computers are on a wireless network they may be synchronising Outlook folders. If you delete on one computer the email will be deleted on the other one the next time the folders are synchronised.
