need to network two computers

i have two computers which are side by side and need to network them. one is windows 7 and the other is vista. can i do it with a usb cable. i have the ethernet ports on both of them already used to connect to internet.

Yes but you would need a USB datalink cable

If they are both connected to the internet, then they're already connected for networking. You just need to make sure they're in the same work group and you've set up sharing permissions. Google set up Windows 8 and Vista networking.
