New to gaming pc's

I'm wanting to buy a mid range gaming pc,but would only like to spend £500 max,could anyone give me any ideas,Im abit lost with which to but i5 or amd,geforce or radeon, how much memory do i need ,and how big a hard drive.

There is this one.Chillblast, but I would click on the customise button and change the graphics card to a HD 6850 and you will have a very reasonable gaming PC with plenty of scope for upgrading in the future.

Another one Specialist PC.

a couple more Dino PC. All these can be tweaked to suit your needs and all come under the £650 mark. The second one you will need to add Windows 7 as I see i have left it out,but you will still be under budget when added.

Do I need a solid state drive , thanks for the great ideas , I wouldn't have known were to start myself.Also do I need anything to connect to the Internet or just a USB , on the chill blast system you recommended

In answer to your second question first,to connect to the internet you can,as I do use an Ethernet cable to connect your PC to your router, or you can,if you want buy a wireless PCI card to connect wirelessly to your router, but this will of course be slower than Ethernet.

As for your first question, do you need a SSD drive ,well you do not actually need one but if you have one then you can place just your operating system and programs on it and your PC will boot faster and load your programs faster.Everything else goes on the big hard-drive.

My set up is a 128GB SSD for Windows 7 and programs, I have a 1TB hard-drive for all my music films pictures etc,I also have a second 1TB hard-drive for my Steam games folder and none Steam games.

SSD's are coming down in price very quickly and are very cheap now but of course it will add to your overall cost when buying your PC. This is always something that can be added later.
